How to setup a mailbox as IMAP on Microsoft Outlook 2013

Below are the steps you need to follow:

Step 1:

Open Outlook and select File.

Step 2:

Click Add Account.

Step 3:

Check Manual setup or additional server types and click Next.

Step 4:

Select POP or IMAP and click Next

Step 5:

Enter Your Name and E-mail Address.

Select IMAP as your account type.

For Incoming mail server (IMAP), e.g. pop3.isat.co.za

For Outgoing mail server (SMTP), e.g. smtp.dsl.isat.co.za

In Logon Information enter the Mailbox username and Mailbox password.

Click More Settings.

Step 6:

Select Advanced.

For Incoming server (IMAP) : 143

For Outgoing server (SMTP) : 25

For Root folder path enter INBOX with uppercase letters.

Click OK and then Next.

Step 7:

Outlook will test the settings, then should tell you that "all tests completed successfully"

Click Close.

If however Outlook tells you a test failed, double check your settings and ensure they have been entered correctly.

Step 8:

You have now set up your account in Microsoft Outlook 2013. Click Finish.
